Description

Juniper is a resiniferous, coniferous shrub, it grows spontaneously in the entire Carpathian mountain range, at heights between 700 and 1500 m. The dry juniper fruits (large black berries) are used in the kitchen as spices, especially in marinades, for game or cabbage, and as an ingredient in making gin.

Use

They are used under the form of tea, decoction, tincture or hydroalcoholic extract.

The hydroalcoholic extract of juniper has multiple therapeutical properties. The ones for which it is used by us in our topical preparations are the revulsive, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic and capillary blood flow stimulating properties.

It is indicated in the treatment and healing of the diseases of the osteoarticular system: rheumatism, strains, sprains, trauma or for relaxing the muscles after intense physical effort etc.
